Dropping old unproductive thinking and start living a more powerful, positive life. How can you do that, your ask. By first realizing that change start NOW! Change is an action that occurs first when we realize change is needed and then, when we act on it. Have a minute jot down some unproductive habits that you realize you may have that need work. Then leave space to write down what you think you can you do differently.

Example: Procrastination, putting off what you can do today, for tomorrow. Stop it and face it. Doing what you can do today, why aren’t you? Do you make excuses? Ask yourself why is it I don’t put what is good for me first and you will see that this resonates in many area of unproductive habits. But you must be very honest with yourself.

We all have baggage, and now is the time to address it and then to to leave it where it belongs, behind us. This is no small task but in baby steps become walking and then leaping into better habits in our life. There are many methods on increasing ones’ productivity, you can find the one that is best for you. Whether it be a working program, literature on self improvement and/or a self-developed system.

One I find helpful is an easy to start method is just adding a few minutes a day devoted to writing down a usually forgone task and setting a time dedicated to just working on that task alone. Whether it be developing technique in painting, reading up on reference to an desired area; that we are not strong in, and learning more about it, or practicing an activity or lesson for a designated task. Doing any of the mention can strengthen your knowledge and increase a greater level of productivity. It is the investment of your time, which for most part, will bring about a positive result.

You can improve your productivity but it has to begin with you and the decision to improve what is important in your life and only you can do that.

Start focusing on the now and moving forward in a life of presence, passion, and purpose.

ReUse Art Revolution – Going Artsy Green to Save the Planet

ReCycled Boot into ART

ReCycled Boot into ART

In the past few decades we have been made aware of our declining environmental status. Poor air & soil quality, over-crowding, decline of natural resource, and waste of resources just to name a few or our global ailments. We are seeing the impact of our mistakes and misuses first hand. We are all in agreement that we must each make changes in our everyday life. Become more conscious of our bad & wasteful habits. No matter how big or small the action is, it’s still action, and we must act now.

And with this being said let’s start looking at alternatives and start thinking outside the box. In the art community many are taking to recycling, reuse, & reduction of waste headed to the landfill. Turning what at times can be very ugly garbage, are re-purposed into things of beauty. Saving items from trips to the landfill and giving it a new look and/or voice is a brave step for some artist. Reassuring us creativity and re-purposing is very much alive and well.

Example: I went to the most amazing show last weekend, it was an art exhibit, but not just any old art exhibit. This exhibit showcases many artist who used different mediums. The requirement for this recycled art show was to use 50% or more recycled materials. This recycled art show was inspiring and imaginative. The work ranged from collage, garments, paintings, jewelry, to sculpture. The creativity involved was breathe taking and wide ranged. A dress composed of shopping bags to a 500 pound, magnificent, bold, metal beast made of everything from; discarded auto parts to beverage containers. Another stunning piece was discarded laces and silks from a lingerie drawer of cast offs made into a wall hanging mural, 5 ft x 3 ft width, each fiber projected rich texture and color unique to itself. I was more than amazed to see what wonderfully, incredible, ingenious ideas these talented designers had created.

A statement made by one of the participating artist was profound to me. He said: “It is a joy for me to discover usable salvage thrown out forever by a previous owner. There is so much salvage to be found. As I build, I watch my creation become real. My vision, watching it take shape, is life blood for me. I feel so fulfilled giving things life again, a new purpose. There is nothing in this world that I would rather do. My life is art and without creating my art I would die!” And in his intense eyes, I could see he meant every word. His artwork comes from his soul and his work reflected that.

I talked to other patrons and the since of shock, amazement, and awe was in the air. Most repeated that there should be a higher awareness of what the art community is doing to encourage recycling and reuse as it relates to creativity and art. Many communities promote and hold shows to showcase artist and some even feature recycled art, but we need to do this more and to include everyone in our community. You can check your community schedule see if have any recycled shows and/exhibits in your area. If not see what you can do to get something started.

The use of recycled materials and waste can be a catalyst of change in the building resources, construction, and design field. If artist can see innovation in trash, whose to say we can’t have other application for reusable waste? A lot of company are looking into recycled material application, but I think all should at every level of production and consumption. What do we have to lose? Our planet!
Let love our planet, reuse, recycled, renew!

In the trying is the doing, in the doing is success.

All the Buzz is about going green.  With environmental changes and economic climate being what is most of us our rethinking our way of life. From the gas pump, grocery stores, waste disposal, method of transportation just to name a few we are learning to change our habits to save our habitat.

So is true with craftier, artists, and tradesman alike.  Making old new again. Re-purposing things that would better served in a second life. Recycling everything from pop bottles to old books a magazines, re-purposing is the RAGE.   Wonderful vintage clothing re-purposed into corsages and totes. Glass bottles melted down to form cheese trays, tire rubber to form soles of sandals, kitchen utensils into 3d altered art.   The more uses you can find for objects the more kudos goes to you.   This has been long overdue. We have been a use and refuse society for far to long.

Whats Old is New again but lets make this New a way of life.  If you have a re-purposed, or reuse idea, please post and share, as well as share this site with your friends.

 Thank you J

We all have gift some undiscovered, non the less we have gifts. The key is to recognize gifts when they present themselves. Sometimes not so obvious yet very present. HAVE YOU EVER TRIED SOMETHING A REALIZED HEY I like this, this is fun??? And something new becomes new some new to do more and more often.
Do ever think that you are not good at something it is just you have not excercised its potential in your life enough to become good at it. You have to ability to try new things and in saying that you have the ability to master new things as well. It is a active choice. And the learning is in the doing. Loving a hobby, craft, art, etc. is in the learning, when it moves you. So don’t ever say you “cannot” because I know that you can, the CAN is in the DOING. FIRST YOU MUST TRY.
